the new year

so far my new year had been great! on the first we went to the ikea store to pick up some desks. which was my christmas gift. I was so excited. I got a nice little white desk with a few drawers. After that we went shopping! The only thing I bought was the other starbucks christmas gift card that i didn't have. (yes  I have started collecting them again.) I looked a clothes but nothing I couldn't live with out. I also think that not having everything in my closet app, as well as not having my closet clean didn't allow myself to buy something new until I got those two goals done.

on the second my sister and I played dance central. it was pretty fun and definitely a work out! we spent the day with leane one of my best friends who was home for the holidays (you might remember her from here.) it was nice to talk to her again. I miss her so much when she's gone. on the plus side I can go visit her in San Francisco and have my own personal tour guide :) after spending the day with leane my sister and i went to the hair salon and I made an appointment to get my hair dyed. I think its time for a change. hey after all it's a new year its time for a new me :)

planning time for fun

this is the last week of freedom before school starts up again. so i am planning everything i want to get done before then.  photo shoots, jewelry, mini watercolor paintings, getting started for ideas for school, a lot to accomplish but i think i can get it done. i will share pics i have been using my phone because i got a cool app that takes your pictures like a toy camera. yay! so heres to getting things done!

all this time.....what i've missed

i wanted to come back to this blog with inspiration and a new out look and between the last days of school and having a really bad cold i have fallen short. i have missed showing you what i have been working on and i even missed my 2 year blogaiversary however i will be more present because i love writing, and sharing my points of view and thing i love and get inspiration from and with that said i want to share that i changed my minor again. 1 because i'm allergic to the ingredients in the clay and 2. making the clay was hard and heavy so after a broken heart and a broken back i changed my minor to wait for it, wait for it jewelry and metalsmithing which is why i have been MIA for a while making jewelry takes a while.  once i set up a photo shoot i will share what i have worked on! but un till then i will leave you with one jewelry designer i admire and would love to work for some day! i have been mia for a very long time

The reason is I have been going though a lot of growing pains in life, school, friends, life goals and I just needed to take a break, and filled my days watching hot in cleveland and desperate housewives on netflix. but I have been up to my old tricks changed my minor again to jewelry!!!! and I am so happy about it! i will fill you guys in in about 2 weeks that's when I am done with school and can focus on fun art projects to share! i just wanted to say i missed the blog and i want to make it more of a priority.

we had joy we had fun we has seasons in the sun

this summer has been full of highs and lows though those time i just wanted some time to reflect so i have kept to my self and took a break well because i lost my voice i didn't know what to write about because alot of things in my life have or are in the process of changing. but i want to focus on the highs of this summer because there were alot of good ones.

1. got my first commison.

2. went down south and panned for saphires

3. decited i dont want to move down south

4. got closer to new friend (she's got me hooked on castle and gives me great books to read)

5. i have a new son his name is henry which you already know but serously came at the perfect time he is a good distraction.

6. God's always got my back

that's what happened this summer. i'm exticed that i's almost over to get back to school. i am so lucky to be able to study what i love and can't wait to get back to it and learn more.

the day's they came and went and came again.

the past few weeks since i promised to write every day have been bombarded with issues, i felt under the weather for a week then felt drained at work because my trusty side kick retired, then it was vacation time! so the days keep changing so fast i can't believe its july 7th already. man where does the time go? i will be doing/ posting the diy i  was going to do some time next week or this weekend if things don't pop out of nowhere like they keep doing.  will post about what we did during the vacation had lots of fun and when we got home we even got a new pet! tons of stuff to fill you guys in i'm kinda excited about this season of my life.

rain came and went so we took a walk

this last week we had our fair shares of rain storms and tornado watches. this is strange because where i live we haven't had a tornado anything during my life time though most of the week was rainy there was a very nice day and we took advantage of it. my family and i took a hike and mid way though i realized I'm so out of shape. but it was nice we stopped every so often to take a picture or two.

i know i haven't posted in awhile blame the storms that keep coming to our area they knock out our internet connection every time i decide to make a post anyway, we finally had a good warm weekend and my sister and i got to have our photos taken by two really good friends. they both snapped shots at the same while we posed. i like this idea it cool to see how they both differed in the approach of setting up a shot.  

now that school is over i need to get in some much needed craft time! so i will make some DIY's for those rainy days that seem to be coming. i have so many ideas and now i have time to do them i'm so excited to start sharing projects.  my first project is the picture above.

when time came to clear you slate you had to much had much on your plate......

yes it's that time of year again where i start getting crazy and adding way to much on my plate metaphorical and literally. i'm in ceramics and i love it so much i decided to make it my minor. so now i'm off to make more stuff on the potters wheel and hopefully get to decorate them tonight. i have a color palate in mind and what i want them to look like all in my head i just need to take the time to get them that way. i'm so excited for this and can't wait to show you guys the finished products.  the picture above are two bowls that i thew. just a sneak peek. stress and creativity is never fun 3 more weeks untill i'm free and can work on other art projects not for school so looking forward to this. i hope you guys have a lovely day i know i am its sunny today so yay!

snow in april

this morning started with starbucks and snow! yes snow. this last week was amazing and i will write a blog post soon i just need time to do it. and i also have some other blog post i would like to do. ill be back soon!

spring has sprung

i took time off from writing to have spring break which i will post some photos soon. i also have some really good post coming up. like artist i love, a book review, new work i have been working on in clay class, and i'm thinking about doing a post about how i  put together a piece of art work together all the processes i go though.  so stay tuned.

threading and cookies

yesterday started with starbucks then i threaded my floor loom, the first step of many. (that i will try to remember to take pictures just to document that i can do it! lol) went to the store to get some supplies for our ceramics class. my sister made a fondue set while i made a cookie dish. funny story i bought play dough cookies thinking that they would go with my plate because they are typically yellow and pink but thanks to st. Patricks day they are GREEN!

pretty awesome fondue set and yeah that's chocolate and pretzels! we had a fun time in class eating and describing how we made our dishes and what problems we encountered while we built them. next on the list is throwing on the wheel. this should fun!

getting ready for valentines

i say it every time but this time its true i am gonna make a valentines card diy! yes yes its true. i will be making it and posting it tomorrow. but today i did make some valentines for the fibers class sale.  yes i'm a wimp i have been in the same position for 5 yes 5 hours and now my back hurts but its all worth it! i love them. i will show you mine a little later on (sneak peek picture above).  right now i'm off to relax my back and maybe paint my nails again. mix the colors one on top of each other (because they work really well and don't chip as easy as others.) have a good weekend and keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for my diy!

the epic snow day!

this picture was taken yesterday trying to drive as you can see we couldn't see anything. but today it got so much better the sun was out (before you guys ask yes i was in shock a little bit) there was no clouds in the sky and we listened to here comes the sun from the beatles on our way to school so all in all a better day they yesterday. yay!
i also wanted to share some other pictures from my phone like prints i have made, perfect cookies, and ducks.

i plan to make some valentines with this i'm excited and i will share as soon as i get them done! 

now all i want to do is make a fort as cute as this one and sleep this weather away.

new things like sweaters and nail polish

right now i'm sitting in my little house waiting for the huge winter storm to hit. it makes me a little nervous knowing that it might snow rain. i'm afraid that it will freeze shut everything. i've been wearing tons of sweaters i just bought a new one from arie. i have been coveting it since it first came out and i got it half price! yes!

i also got one of the new nail polishes that katy perry and opi made. normally i wouldn't get anything that celebrities endorse or creative direct (thanks lady gaga for ruining polaroid for me) but i couldn't help it the colors were just to good to pass up. i got a light pink (teenage dream) and the gun metal pink (the one that got away)  so i'm off to paint my nails and wait this storm out! for those of you on the east coast stay safe and warm

10 random facts about.....

me! i just wanted to share some random facts about me. just so you guys can get to know me a little better.

1. i mentioned this before but i thought i would share this again ready i'm a twin. (some people get to know me and then feel offended that i didn't tell them this little fact about me)

2. i love detective /cop shows right now i'm obsessed with NCIS and law and order: svu (discloser usa marathons are a very dangerous thing you lose your whole day. thanks usa)

3. i got bert the farting hippo for christmas and its the best gift i have ever gotten (bert is abby from ncis hippo and i love him)

4. i have a huge crush on timothy hutton (i can't explain it i just do)

5. i collect raggedy ann and andys
6. my favorite color to wear is black not because black is slimming i just like the way i feel in it.

7. i love going to church it's my favorite thing to do

8. i read alot and when i mean alot i mean like two or three books at a time.

9. i have changed my major once and added and dropped a minor (i changed to something i love and could see myself doing anything else)

10. i am the worst dancer ever yeah i can only do the robot, running man, but i'm a genuis and the sprinkler.

haven't you heard.....

haven't you heard new year new classes. i started back at school this week, i'm so excited! i have ceramics and its getting better i'm making a whistle (and it works!) once i'm done with it i will show you guys. i'm also taking a weaving and fibers class that i'm so stoked to be taking. were gonna learn knitting (which i already know how to do that) weaving on a loom (i'm super excited to learn), and to embroider so needless to say i can't wait. i have a few other classes i'm taking just to fill out my requirements, but those are the ones i'm excited about most! 

the first weaving and fibers class we had was just a lets get to know each other a bit better, and a why did you want to take this class? so i got to know some of the other students and not to mention my sister is also taking these two classes with me. (yay!) then the teacher had a presentation and she gave us a list of names and i just freaked out when i saw that jenny heart was on that list. totally made my day because i love sublime stitching.i look a her patterns and always want to get some but i don't know how to embroider.(i let my sister do that....for now lol) so here's to learning new things!

to day was the perfect day!

woke up did yoga, made an art journal page, and had a photo shoot for new blog buttons mine are on the right side add one to your blog if you like (and yes i did model one after patti smith's horses cd cover) i also made some for my sister. in other news it keeps snowing here on and off big fluffy snow flakes it makes me feel like i'm in a snow globe. its so magical and pretty it makes me want to snuggle up with a blanket and my kindle to watch the snow fall. so i'm off to plan my saturday i have lots i want to do and not enough time to do it. heres to time management!
