bullet shell and chain friendship bracelet

This is a quick D.I.Y with what i had in my purse. Yes i have bullets shell's in my purse. A friend I'm my metal smithing class was cutting them up and gave me the part she didn't need anymore.

supplies 

i used cut bullet shells but you can use tubing or even just thick metal beads

chain i had chain left over from my project but you can buy some chain from any craft store and cut them down to size.

any color of embroidery floss

step one

cut out five arm length pieces. fold in half and tie a slip knot.

step two

braid and inch or two then add the a forward knot to secure the braid 

add the "bead" add a forward knot and reverse forward knot to secure it into place.

add the chain forward knot and braid the embroidery floss until the braid is the same length of the chair and forward knot to secure it into place add the other "bead" the way you added the first. braid the rest tie a knot and volla your done!

finally almost done

this semester is almost over and i'm so glad. every year i feel like i have great intentions for all my projects, i was going to get my organization act together, and i was going to plan out my time effectively, and every year i start out great but by the end of it i get so overwhelmed and feel so beat up i cant wait for it to be over. this semester was a tough one with me not being happy and almost quitting (i came to my senses and stuck it out thank God so much happier now) but it was hard getting though some days. soon its going to be over and i'm so happy i need this break! i plan to start an inspiration board on pintrest for my jewelry, i need to have them photographed, and i want to just get back to making art just because.....not for a class, no deadline just to make it fun again.  maybe this will spark something great! i cant wait.

new york part 1

i have written this post in my head so many times. trying to remember every moment of it. the first thing i want to say is new york is the greatest city in the world! even though i haven't been to every city in the world i feel like nothing can top this metropolis, and this trip confirmed what i already knew in my heart to be true once i finish school I'm move to the big apple. so now for what we did on this trip.

we took a bus from my school and headed to nyc got there at 3 in the afternoon and it was amazing. i almost cried (yes i'm a happy crier) that i was back in the city that i had visited when i was sixteen and so excited to make it to cbgb's. this time was different i went with girl friends, and we had an amazing time. museums (like the met yay gossip girl) amazing pizza and the empire state building which i was very nervous  because i'm afraid of heights and its the tallest building the city so yikes! i was happy that my friends were there to share in this pretty big moment for me conquering my fear (there was a split second that i almost didn't go up, but i thought to myself you can let fear control you this way.) so i did it my heart was racing and i was shaking the first elevator ride up but the employees were so nice and chatted us up and that relaxed my nerves. we made it up and it was amazing!

we did alot more because we were there for a week but i wanted to share the thing that made the trip for me first and will continue to write about it soon. i just haven't decided whether or not to just have a big photo post or just post about each thing we did. so un till i figure it out hope you enjoyed my story.

the game of life

well since i've been gone i have gone to new york and changed my major yes yes i am that girl. the girl who thinks she know what she wants to do with the rest of her life and when she likes something like say drawing she changes it. which i did more times than i care to admit but this time its different. seriously it's the only thing i think about, what is this new major that is all you think about you say? its METAL SMITHING! yes i took the jump to make pretty things and i've very excited about it! i keep saying that i'm going to share thing and don't but it was because i did not have a camera and now that i do i will photograph them, but in the mean time this is a pin that i made for a pin swap at school. i have so much to share ill be back.

i have been taking a break and doing fun and exciting things to share here on the ole blog like my trip to nyc! which was amazing and i will post about that soon. i have been thinking up new posts that are fun and special! so i'm bring back the girl crush! and my girl cush this week is kelly osbourne. i think she has amazing style and i love love that lavender hair color.

so excited i'm gonna throw up!

yeah that's exsatctly how i'm feeling today. i want this day to go by faster, by this time tomorrow ill be in wait for it................New York! yes! i'm so excited i have butterflys everytime i think about going, or what i'm going to wear. yes i do get butterflys when i think about what i'm going to wear since did buy clothes just for this trip. a little bit of a shopaholic tendicy but i can't and couldn't help it. plus it was jason wu for target. great excuse right? well i just wanted to share because i can no longer play it cool.
