all roads lead to pittsburgh

on thursday we loaded up the car and took a trip over to pittsburgh to the andy warhol museum. they had the marilyn Monroe exhibit photographs, paintings of other artists, and of course the screen prints that andy did of marilyn.

the museum was huge it has seven floors and a little tip you want to start seeing the galleries from the seventh floor and work your way down. something we didn't know oops.

if you ever have a chance to make it to pennsylvania i suggest going to this museum. its full of color and amazing work.

keith haring! he was born in reading pennsylvania in may 4, 1958. he went to school in pittsburgh and was friends with andy warhol. he was most famous for doing "graffiti" art in subway stations with chalk. he also was famous for the "crack is wack" mural. he died of aids on february 16, 1990. Since his death, Haring has been the subject of several international retrospectives. The work of Keith Haring can be seen today in the exhibitions and collections of major museums around the world.
